Timer Controls

Pause freezes the timer. After pausing, the button becomes Continue. Stop resets to the selected duration.

Duration (applies on next Start)

Custom format: dd:hh:mm:ss. Any numeric value is allowed and the correct format will be calculated automatically.

On-Finish Behavior

Default: On finished, the timer will blink at 0:00 and play a sound. Overtime mode: continues into negative time (for e.g. practicing pitching on time) .

Clicking on "Apply Colors" updates the color(s) in all timer windows immediately.

HOW TO:

This timer is for use with additional displays *ONLY*. It runs locally in your browser, not on a server somewhere, and will thus also work offline.

  1. Select duration, colors, on-finish behaviour, etc
  2. Click on "Open Timer Window" to open a new tab with a page that displays the actual timer
  3. Remove this newly opened page from your tabs
  4. Drag the new page to an external display
  5. Set the dragged page to "fullscreen"
  6. You can open as many timer windows as you have additional displays connected to this machine - they will all keep in sync as long as you keep all pages open in the same (this) browser.
  7. Start, stop, pause/continue in this page/interface as needed
  8. Monitor the status of the timer counter in this interface in realtime

WHY:

We made our own timer because all "free" web-based timers we've tried so far did not meet our needs.

  1. They only work for a single display (aka you manage *and* show the timer in the *same* single interface, aka unprofessional impression)
  2. They look crap in fullscreen (aka they don't scale to fit the screen)
  3. They are not customisable to fit our preferred color scheme (aka they look like crap)
  4. They feature ads (aka the audience will see the ads, aka see unprofessional impression)
  5. They only work when online (aka who knows what happens if the connection to the Internet is lost)

And we made it available for everyone to use for free - because we think everybody should have access to a timer that makes more sense for their events.
